Yes! At a slightly higher weekly rate, there are rooms with private bathrooms.

Our goal is to create a community of like-minded individuals. As such, all houses are co-ed as the mix in the house is made up of working professionals from all walks of life. We focus on building a community of purposeful, driven people who appreciate the value of others.

Living economically in a shared, co-living space doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice safety. In actuality, we do all the things you WISH you could have done when taking on a roommate. We’ve employed a 6-point system that supports the best community of all.

Personal Interviews
We personally interview each prospective tenant to make sure that they meet the criteria of being a quality house mate. We seek professional, driven individuals who appreciate the value of other quality people. You are who you surround yourself with, so let’s ensure they are aligned to your goal-oriented lifestyle.

Background Checks
Each tenant is screened with a background check, weeding out those with a criminal record not conducive for a shared environment.

Keyless Entry
All exterior doors, in addition to being reinforced, are fitted with digital locks that are monitored and can be recorded quickly. This addresses concerns about house mates copying keys and handing out or even sharing their code with someone else.

Bedroom Locks
Bedroom doors are also equipped with individual digital keypads and locks. Each tenant has a code individual to him or her that can also be monitored, changed as needed, and secured from others.

Security Cameras
The common spaces of the house have security cameras to help us all inspect what we expect. The most common area a house dynamic breaks down is in the kitchen; dishes piled up, trash not taken out, stove messes left behind. Although our cameras are not monitored in real time, it enables us to help tenants keep each other accountable on maintaining the high standards we all agreed to in the House Commitments.

Exterior Lighting

Each residence comes equipped with ample outdoor lighting. We want to ensure each tenant comes home to the comfort of a well lit exterior environment.

Co-living is a way of living that is focused on community and convenience. Live as part of a community, sharing wonderfully designed spaces and inspiring events, with the comfort of being able to retreat to your own private space at the end of the day. Everything you need to make the most of city life is included in Membership; a private room, high speed internet, all utilities and taxes.

Our spaces are nothing without people, and it’s our members that make it a home. You will have endless opportunities to start new and interesting conversations, share ideas and experiences with like-minded individuals, leave your mark and help to build this amazing community. Creatives, consultants, bankers, hospitality managers, healthcare workers, and so on… in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Median age of our tenants is 36, but remember, age is just a number, but Adulting is forever! There are people new to this city, just like you, and they are looking for YOU.

Furnishings and services will vary depending on the home you choose. All common spaces including living rooms and kitchens, are fully equipped with all the essentials for living convenience. Each location includes high-speed Wi-Fi, utilities, landscaping, and maid services.

The monthly membership includes utilities (gas, water, electricity), WIFI, trash services, and full-time maintenance team. The house as well as your private room comes with a refrigerator.

We have a streamlined process that makes it easy and comfortable for you to find the room you’re looking for:

  1. First, you’ll answer a few pre-qualification questions via www.homesharecharlotte.com/apply
  2. After the online questionnaire, you’ll schedule a time to meet with our Member Support Manager via a 15 minute Zoom video call.
  3. If it makes sense to move forward, we’ll send you an application, which includes a credit and background check.
  4. If your application is  approved, we will provide you with the steps to begin the onboarding process.
  5. We will send you the codes for the house (all doors are electronic) and you move in on your schedule, preferably during daylight hours as to not disturb others.

After the Zoom (remote) interview, applicants will complete an online application. We may reach out to answer any lingering questions we may have. Afterwards you are sent your lease agreement and payment instructions. In general, the entire process can take 48 hours to complete.

Homeshare Charlotte provides move-in support during the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm EST, M-F. We highly encourage Members to plan to move-in to their home during these times. While most move-ins are quick, we recommend that you allot several hours for your move-in, just in case.

Move-ins that are made outside of these hours are not eligible for a refund if issues arise.

When you apply to Homeshare Charlotte, we will review your credit history. However, your credit history is a minimal factor in the approval process. Your credit will be reviewed via a “hard-pull” that will minimully affect your credit score by dropping it just a few points.

Your income must be verified as part of Homeshare Charlotte’s application process. Applicants may choose to have their income verified by uploading supporting documents such as pay stubs, bank statements, deposit statements or award letters.

When you pass our Membership criteria and your income is verified, you will be approved for a room.

You can still qualify for Membership if you are on unemployment or between jobs, but you will need to pay a larger deposit equal to two week’s rent.

The application fee is non-refundable at this time.

Membership payments must be paid by midnight on Due Day. Due Day is every Friday.

Membership payments are billed two days before your Dues Day. If payment is not made in full by midnight on Dues Day, you will be charged a $50 late fee.

You can view your billing schedule and payment history in your online portal.
